April 25

Bath time! He reminds me of the RCA dog in this photo.

April 24

Mom and Dad on Easter Sunday. We went to a party at my Aunt Marlene and Uncle Ken's house. Of course, I didn't take photos of anyone else. I'm a bad photo blogger. :-)

April 23

My parents came up for Easter weekend and my dad had seen this Dutch pancake on a cooking show. We had to try it and it was delicious. It's just one giant "pancake" and then you cut it into four. It's actually more like a crepe in taste and consistency. We liked it so much that we made it again on Sunday!

April 22

Movie night! I love my air popper. Usually we just use some spray canola oil and a little salt but I've been melting a bit of butter lately instead. It's SO good with butter. Next, I want to try infusing some oil with rosemary and then tossing that with the popcorn and a little salt.

April 21

I decapitated some flowers from my yard and now they're in my living room.

April 20

Book 7 in the series.
This is my guilty pleasure.

April 19

A travelling dog groomer in my neighborhood. That's one of my favorite books so I love walking past this van every day.

April 18

Spoiled dog.
This is one last photo from our hike at Lake Hodges. Since Dignan only has one leg in front, we have to be careful about hiking too long with him because the pads on his front paw will wear off and then he can't walk without being in pain for a few days. It was a little gravelly in this part so he got a free ride.

Lake Hodges

April 16

We hiked around Lake Hodges today. This was the first time I'd been there since Chelsea was killed a little over a year ago. So sad. It puts a damper on things, no doubt about it. But it was still nice to go out for a walk...and Dignan LOVES it.

April 15

I'd better get one of these strawberries this year. The stupid birds eat little portions of each one and it drives me crazy! Just take one and finish it, for crying out loud.

Snow peas have arrived!

April 13

Today was a very low day for me. My boss was on a rampage. We couldn't do anything right. She's just so mean and condescending. I know I'm a good worker but she makes me feel like I'm horrible. That's her way with everyone lately. I don't know what's happened to her because she didn't used to be like this. I guess she's so unhappy in her own life that it makes her feel better to belittle the people around her.

I really missed my other boss, Sharon (pictured), today. She used to be the perfect counterpunch to Lili and they were a great team. Sharon made work fun. She was so giving that she'd always have something special planned for us. If it weren't for Sharon, I wouldn't be able to work at home today. That was the last gift she gave me before she died. I miss her quite often but never as much as on a day like today.

Scenes from our Walks, Part 8

Last year, everyone complained that there weren't enough flowers. So, this year, Mr. Bush went all out.

April 9

Are you kidding me?

This is what I found after exiting a restaurant tonight. No note. No witnesses. Nice. More money down the drain.

April 8

When you make a mistake in this casino, they can't just let it go.
They're going to light it up so EVERYONE sees it night after night.

April 7

I finished the final book in the series and, I have to admit that, while I was ho-hum about the first novel, I really enjoyed the next two. In fact, I feel like the 1st novel wasn't really part of the "trilogy", other than the fact that it introduced us to Lisbeth and Mikael. The last two books really were two parts of a whole and it's not just because there was no lapse in time between them. They had a very different feel than book 1. It's definitely worth reading the entire series.

Scenes from our Walks, Part 7

These are the biggest roses. Each one of these is probably 5-6 inches across. They have a bunch of different colors too.

Snake in the road. Gross.

April 3

Chloe and I (not the best photo but it's the best of the bunch). I wish her face was more visible because she has the cutest smile.

April 2

My brother took this photo but I love it so I'm posting it because today was the first day I got to meet my new niece, Phoebe, in person.

Matt and I flew to Oakland last night and we visited Don and Raquel and Chloe today...but the first order of business was to see Phoebe in the flesh and hold her in my arms. What a sweetheart. I enjoyed spending time with Chloe also. She's at such a great age. I can finally understand what she is saying! They are both so adorable. I can't wait to see them again this summer.

Typical Aunt...I hardly mentioned Don and Raquel but it was great to hang out with them also.
