February 15

When I say that Dignan is shedding a lot, I'm not joking. This is from one brushing and doesn't even include all the tufts of hair that blew away into the yard before I took the picture. Keep in mind that I brush him daily. Where does it come from? He should be bald by now!

So I heard one home remedy for a dog's shedding is to add a little oil, or an egg, or something, to their food. We just feed our girls dry food, so we started adding a teeny bit of oil - they go craazzzzy for it, and it does seem to slow down the shedding, although of course not stop it altogether. Maybe does the daily brushing make the scalp produce more hair? Plus the weather back-and-forths... I dunno. Just thinking out loud. I love the pics,S! - Jen

What kind of oil? Olive oil? We give him Dermcaps which contain fish oil but I haven't tried adding anything directly to his food.

I do think it's the weather. If I don't brush him, he sheds like crazy and, if I do brush him, he sheds like crazy so I don't think that is the issue. This is something that has been going on every year since we've had him....fall and spring usually.
